SPRING BEGINS
Not only does the Sun go into the bold, brave, energetic sign of
Aries as it always does at this time, but it is given an extra
boost from an exact trine to active Mars in
radiant Leo (Mars will be direct as of March 10th, after a
period of retrograde motion since the Winter Solstice). Winter
has been a period of gestation and internal activity. Spring is
a time for birth and new action. The Sun is also conjunct
Mercury and Uranus, so our unique, original voices must be
expressed. The Sun is also directly engaged with the current
Saturn-Pluto struggle. However these forces of form and
transform are working in our lives, this season is the time
to acknowledge them (Mercury), work with them (Saturn), and move
forward (Mars) from our authentic impulse (Uranus), to evolve
powerfully (Pluto). There is a big process in process! The Moon
in beautiful, earthy Taurus will help us stay grounded in our
nurturing communities, and with a square to Neptune and Chiron,
it will keep us emotionally connected to our deep healing
journeys.

Dear Sisters, I have just returned from the most enchanting evening. We are blessed beyond measure in our circle--in our world--to enjoy in this now our High Priestess, Andrea. Our blessed sister assisted perhaps 200 people to celebrate the solstice this evening. With beauty and eloquence, inspiration and skill, She invited in the entities of the directions and invited the participants to connect with the Goddess and with All That Is. She shared the mysteries of Nut and Geb and their offspring, we heard in beautiful detail the love story of Isis and Osiris. She annointed us all in sound! She invited the participants to sound. She invited all to celebrate the return of light...I would love to tell you more, but it is 12:34 a.m. Yet, I knew I could not sleep had I not shared with you all the joy and love and connection and satisfaction and enchantment I had the pleasure to experience this evening. For singers and non-singers

This workshop will explore vocal expression outside of traditional song. We will focus on sound itself and discover our vast vocal potential. Approaching the voice as an instrument, Andrea will introduce healthy, liberating vocal technique as well as intuitive singing for sound-healing and for improvisational, evocative music.
Andrea Goodman has a 32-year career of singing without words in a pure universal language of sound, beginning with 17 years as an original singer in the Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble in New York City, touring world-wide, recording and teaching. She has taught vocal technique since 1979 and practiced sound –healing since 1985. She has lived in Boothbay, Maine, since 1989, performing with Figures of Speech Theatre, The Resonance Residence and other musicians.
